GROWTH MARKET RENEWABLE ENERGIES – A CHANCE FOR CARINTHIAN KNOW-HOW OPENS UP IN KAZAKHSTAN<\/h2>\n

In the Turkestan region, on the edge of the Kazakh steppe, between 2,800 and 3,000 hours of direct solar radiation per year are measured, which corresponds to 1300-1800 kWh \/ m2 – yet coal is still Kazakhstan’s largest energy source. However, the Kazakh government is pursuing the ambitious goal of increasing the share of renewable energies from around one percent today to three percent in 2020 and to 50 percent by 2050.<\/p>\n

A delegation from the Kazakh Ministry of Energy now visited the St. Veit Solar Center and the GreenOneTec and Kioto Solar plants. These companies as well as others (e.g. MySolar, PV-Invest and Bonergo, combined in the consortium of Austria Consult) are to impart competencies and know-how in the field of solar energy in Kazakhstan.<\/p>\n
