PV-Kraftwerk Kozina

Successful realisation: Slovenia’s largest solar power plant

Slovenia, Kozina: Close to the Slovenian-Italian border, not far from Trieste, PV-Invest GmbH is building the largest solar power plant in Slovenia. With an impressive total output of seven megawatt peak (MWp), the plant in the village of Kozina will be connected to the grid this summer.

Covering an area of 7.2 hectares, 12,636 modules with 550 watts each will be installed. These panels will produce around 8,991 MWh of electricity per year, which corresponds to the energy requirements of around 2,500 households. The electricity generated is fed directly into the local power grid and thus makes a significant contribution to the region’s sustainable energy supply.

A special feature of the plant is its strategic location directly on one of the main roads from Slovenia to Italy and therefore on one of the main transport routes to the Italian coast. This position offers ideal conditions for setting up e-car charging stations in the future and thus supporting travelling traffic.

The commissioning of this large-scale PV system will make a significant contribution to reducing CO2 emissions. The system will be able to save around 2,100 tonnes of CO2 per year. With this project, PV-Invest GmbH is once again demonstrating its expertise and innovative strength in the field of renewable energies. The large-scale photovoltaic project in Kozina is a prime example of successful cooperation between international partners to promote sustainable energy solutions.
